Nearly twenty years ago I designed and built a small cabin on Lake Lure, and had a great time building (with some help!) and furnishing it, including making this hat rack using a hundred year old piece of fir lumber and some porcelain knobs ….
Here’s a close-up shot of one of the knobs. I purposely left the old scratches and dents, and just finished it with three coats of Minwax® Tung Oil for a hand-rubbed effect. Of course, you can pick out any style of knobs you want. I picked these to match the knobs on our maple kitchen cabinets.
